At 3 p.m. on December 20th, the “2022 Overseas Coverage Ceremony of the University Media Center” was held at the New Engineering Center. A total of 14 people attended the event, including 10 students from the university media center selected by overseas reporters, one professor, one teacher in charge, and the head of the center. The sequence of events was carried out with the overall schedule briefing and guidance on precautions, the announcement of the coverage in Group A, the announcement of the coverage in Group B, and the words of the head of the center.
The Overseas Coverage Foundation will leave for Australia for about 10 days from January 9th to January 19th next year. In Australia, half of them will stay in Melbourne and the other half in Sydney for the planned coverage.
The representatives of each group came out and had time to talk about the group coverage plan. In the case of group A, the topic of coverage called “Working Holiday and Coffee Culture” was announced. As the demand for a working holiday to Australia is increasing, it was planned to select students interested in it as targets and get the necessary information. In addition, unlike Korea’s coffee culture, it will conduct coverage of Australia’s coffee culture with more than 90% of private cafes.
Also, in the case of group B, it was announced that it will conduct coverage under the theme of “Animal Protection in Australia.” It is said that Australia’s nation is taking the lead in animal protection as well as the government. In addition, Australia is said to be carrying out various policies and projects to protect wild animals after a large-scale forest fire in 2019. Therefore, in Australia, they will conduct interviews to find out how animal protection is being conducted.
The head of the center emphasized that the most important thing is “safety,” adding encouraging stories, saying, “I hope students from overseas coverage will become a great example of the school and have a lot of good experiences.” The Dongguk Post hope that the 10 students selected by the overseas coverage foundation in 2022 will return to Korea safely after a happy and enjoyable cover in Australia.
